New year always brings new perspective

With the arrival of the Christmas season, and the approach of the New Year, we often find ourselves looking at things with a slightly different perspective. During the year we have a tendancy to get busy with the day to day business of life. One thing that is so great about the Christmas season is most of us take a little break from that day to day grind and have some time to refocus on energy on the direction we would like to see our lives take over the next year. The reality is if we would all make the time to take this break monthly, or better yet weekly, our lives would be lived in a much more guided fashion.

Why is it most people spend more time planning their summer vacation than they do their lives? Think back on your last year and compare that to the time and effort you spent planning your last vacation. I would venture to say most of us spent a considerable more amount of time planning out that vacation. Take the time to put a little effort and planning into your life. Choose the direction you would like to go. Too many of us spend our time relying on the income from a job that is very much out of our control and quite frankly in these economic times could be gone tomorrow. What are you doing to take control of your life over the next year?

Phone a Friend

No, you haven't warped onto the Millionaire show! I want to start bringing up some important points to consider and items you need to be successful in any MLM program.

It is absoulately vital that you find a friend you can rely on. For many people, that person will be your sponsor at least in the beginning. I know I've been taught this from day one in this industry, and trust me I have to be constantly reminded with situations that have arisen in my career. I've had many instances where for various reasons, my sponsor or upline friend needed to be replaced.

One of these instances is a classic case of what has and can happen in this industry. I was paired up with an individual because we were both looking to trying to find a company to utilize another friend's software that had been developed to help build a great business. This individual I was paired with was a "heavy hitter" in the industry in that he has created a huge income over the years in the industry. He has the gift of being able to build very large groups in a very short amount of time. (Which leads into a blog topic for another day on the different types of individuals in the MLM industry - but back to our main topic.) We spent months looking for a good fit for the software. We investigated companies, we talked to executives, we met with distributors, we flew to visit headquarters, the whole spectrum. We ended up joining a few companies we were positive about because the reality is you can't really get to know the inner workings of a company until you can see it from the inside through experience. Through this whole process we found some great companies and great people. During this search we found our current company, and our upline friend, decided to move on. My wife and I decided that our best course of action was to stay with our current company. That lead us to go in search of finding a new "friend". In all honesty we had to go upline quite a while before finding a good fit.

When you find that person, you need to find ways to keep in contact with this person. There are so many great ways with current technology to accomplish this. There are conference calls, phone calls, email, Twitter, Facebook, blogging, etc, etc, etc. The key is you need to keep in touch with this person and allow them to help you. One thing missing from many "organizations" in this industry today is a solid SYSTEM (which is a topic for another time again or this posting will get much too long! :) This is the first key in creating a successful team is to create the communication that allows you and your upline friend to be on the same page.

Do you have an upline friend?

Red Time vs Green Time - Using time effectively in your business?

Are you using your time you are investing in your business wisely? Recently I heard some great points on this topic and it really spurred on some thought process between my ears.

We all have a limited amount of time available to spend in our businesses. It doesn't matter if this is 2-3 hours a week or 20 hours a day, there is a limit. Are you using this time wisely? Are you being the most productive you can in this time frame?

What is the key skill in our business? Making contact with people correct? It is this contact and exposure to people that helps us distribute product and grow your busines and in turn your income. Take the time you have available to invest in your business, and divide that time into red time and green time.

Red time is that time frame that it would not be appropriate to be calling or otherwise directly conversing with people. For example, making a call to a potential business partner at 2:00 am would not be a real productive idea. There are things that can be done during this red time. Things such as composing email, writing blog entries, reading, etc. These things are a vital part of the business, but can be done during your red time as it doesn't involve others.

Green time on the other hand is that time of the day when contacting potential partners is exactly what you should be doing. This could take the form of meetings, phone calls, messenger or other means, however it's direct interaction with potential partners. Green time is NOT the time to be taking care of the items listed above that can be done during red time. You will be much more productive if you spend your green time working on being in contact with others.

You will be much more productive in the time you have available if you reserve green time activities for green time and red time activities for red time. You will notice yourself feeling much better about what you are getting accomplished and in all honesty you will be much more productive in your business. A pleasant side-effect of this is that your income will grow as well. Ask yourself - "Am I using my time most produtively?"

Who is your target prospect? (AKA MLM Mistake #1)

There are so many people that get involved in the MLM industry and make a big mistake in who they are looking for. I have to admit I have often made this mistake myself and that's how I can speak from experience here.

Let's see if you can relate to how this plays out:
You get involved with the SuperPower GoGo Juice company. You get excited and love the product. You immediately go out and try and find others that you think will love your SuperPower GoGo Juice as much as you do! WRONG! That is where the downhill slide starts. You don't find others that love your GoGo Juice as much as you do and you can't understand. Then you begin to get frustrated and eventually just use the product yourself or quit altogether. Even worse many move on to tell everyone they know through word of mouth or now even the internet for all to see that "SuperPower GoGo Juice" is a fraud and doesn't work. The reality is there is nothing wrong with the company, but instead your approach.

Who are you really looking for? Why did you get involved with the company you are with? Were you originally looking for SuperPower GoGo Juice? Probably not. What you were looking for was a chace to make a change in your life. What you were looking for was a dream and a possibility of making a better life. So, why not look for those same people? You need to find people that are looking for a better way of life. Establish yourself as a leader that people will want to follow. Find people looking for more out of life. Where do you find them? They are everywhere. It's just a matter of finding enough people that believe in you and the dream you are following and selling to follow you.

The mainstream media coverage continues

I've been involved in network marketing/direct marketing for 12 years or so now. Products appearing in the mainstream media is a rarity. Quixtar Global is one company that has started pumping quite a bit of money into commercials for prime slots to help promote their products. However, this product keeps finding itself being covered at no cost through local television reports and even featured in segments on National Television such as the Today show! This product is simply amazing and there is a new ingredient being released very soon that will work hand in hand with the Galvanic Spa to actually help reverse the effects of aging! Take just a few mintues and check out this video clip from a local news station.

Is there more than one way to skin an MLM cat?

It's interesting really. I've met so many different "types" of people in the industry. They are very distinct types. The few extremes that I have seen are:

There is s die hard. They have a tendancy to get involved with one company, learn how to build that company, and stick with it. They may go through a few different companies to find the right company, but then when they find a "home", will stay there for a very long time. I've also experienced people that when they get involved in a very good "system", they will stay in that system, travel across the country for meetings, and keep plugging away, even if there is zero movement or profit in their business.

Then there is the company hopper. They change companies every 6-12 months. Don't get me wrong, this is not necessarily a bad thing for them. These are people that see the opportunity with each new company they are exposed to. They find the next greatest thing. The majority of people that fall into this category, end up company hopping, spending a lot of money on signups and initial products. They have a large inventory of products from companies they used to be in. They will contact their friends and family with the next great opportunity they have found and are convinced this is the one. Understand, there are people that make huge profits that do fall into this category. However, you need a very specialized skill set in order to accomplish this. Those that can build groups very rapidly, do very well in this business model. They move to a company, build their group rapidly, and once things appear to really get rolling, move on to another company for one reason or another. Some of the people they had in their old company will follow them, and they will begin the process all over again.

It was interesting a few years ago to spend some time with an individual such as this going through some companies. We were wined and dined by many of the companies we went through and I could see where it could be a great lifestyle. However, we found it just wasn't for us. We are more "home" and "system" people.

How do I fight aging?

The scientific world is simply incredible. What if they could figure out what biologically cuases our bodies (especially our faces) to age? Get a Job!

Okay, I quit listening to anything that resembles news on TV or radio a long time ago. Way too depressing esepcially these days. The big news these days is the economy and jobs. Enough gloom and doom to make Chicken Little look optimistic. Almost everyone is worried about their job and lay-offs. So you should join the pack and be worried about the future of your job correct?

The reality is, if you follow the crowd, you're heading the wrong direction. The true leaders and inovators are usually headed in the opposite direction of the crowd. So really ask yourself - should you be looking for a job? It's all about job security right? Job security, now in this time in history if you don't understand how much of an oxy-moron that is, I'm not sure you will.

The reality of the economy at this point is we are going through a major correction due to over-spending and the over-extension of credit to people that should have never been granted. This time in our economy has been a long time in the making. Yes, things have been changing in our economy. What is the best thing you can do for yourself? Go find a more secure better job correct? GOSH NO! That is the last thing you need. What you really need is to start your own income streams instead of relying on an outside source. This is a time in history when our economy is going through a major transition and those with independent businesses will come out smelling like a rose on the other end. You owe it to your family, heck you owe it to yourself to create an income stream independent of your "job" income. You don't need to create a major corporation such as Microsoft, but there are plenty of opportunities out there to create income for yourself. Helping us market the Galvanic Spa is just one example of great timing. If you would like more help in getting started, please feel free to get in touch with us. We'd be glad to help you get started with us or answer any questions you may have about any other income streams.

Why would anyone want to look younger?

How old you look is almost an irony in and of itself. We spend the beginning part of our lives trying "look" older for one reason or another. We want to appear older to get more priviledges, responsibilities, etc. Then there is a time in our life when that all changes. I think it's sometime in your early 20's for most people. All of a sudden instead of wanting to look older, we start concentrating on wanting to look younger. All of a sudden we wake up and realize we no longer want to look as old as our driver's license tells us we are. We'd like to appear younger. So, what do people do to achieve this? Well, we've all seen it...the "younger" clothing, the mid-life crisis in spending time doing things someone your age shouldn't even consider, plastic surgery, etc, etc, etc. It's amazing what people are willing to endure or pay for to simply appear younger. Then there are the group of people that have a career that depends on them looking their best - speakers, models, flight attendants, and the list goes on. Those people have a financial interest in appearing young.

So, what does this all mean? It means that the age management industry is a great place to be anytime, but especially with our economy floundering like it is right now. Many people are willing to spend money on looking younger (and to many with the careers listed above this is simply an investment), while letting other financial needs go away. We have some incredible products to help you (or anyone you know) look younger and feel better about yourself.

Ethocyn Fountain of Youth

Ethocyn is a fabulous new product that is clinically proven to return skin to 10 or even 20 years ago. You have to see the results personally to really get a handle on the effects it has, but these testimonials will give you a good look into what is possible. Do you know anyone that would like to look younger?

You can't buy TV coverage like this

This is incredible. It's not very often you have the opportunity to market a product that gets television coverage like this, and the big deal is I didn't even have to pay for it! You need to see what these news broadcasters are saying about the galvanic spa.

Take a quick look here. You won't believe your eyes and ears.

There is a lot of money in helping to bring this to the general market, and with television coverage like this, how long can it stay a secret???

What Happens to Your Body When Drinking Coke

What Happens To Your Body Within An Hour Of Drinking A Coke

Don’t drink cola if you want to be healthy. Consuming soft drinks is bad for so many reasons that science cannot even state all the consequences. But one thing we know for sure is that drinking Coke, as a representative of soft drinks, wreaks havoc on the human organism. What happens? Writer Wade Meredith has shown the quick progression of Coke’s assault.

The main problem is sugar. It’s an evil that the processed food industry and sugar growers don’t want people to know about. Even dietitians, financially supported by sugar growers and sugary product manufacturers, are loathe to tell us the truth.

When somebody drinks a Coke watch what happens…

In The First 10 minutes: 10 teaspoons of sugar hit your system. (100% of your recommended daily intake.) You don’t immediately vomit from the overwhelming sweetness because phosphoric acid cuts the flavor allowing you to keep it down.
20 minutes: Your blood sugar spikes, causing an insulin burst. Your liver responds to this by turning any sugar it can get its hands on into fat. (There’s plenty of that at this particular moment)
40 minutes: Caffeine absorption is complete. Your pupils dilate, your blood pressure rises, as a response your livers dumps more sugar into your bloodstream. The adenosine receptors in your brain are now blocked preventing drowsiness.
45 minutes: Your body ups your dopamine production stimulating the pleasure centers of your brain. This is physically the same way heroin works, by the way.
>60 minutes: The phosphoric acid binds calcium, magnesium and zinc in your lower intestine, providing a further boost in metabolism. This is compounded by high doses of sugar and artificial sweeteners also increasing the urinary excretion of calcium.
>60 Minutes: The caffeine’s diuretic properties come into play. (It makes you have to pee.) It is now assured that you’ll evacuate the bonded calcium, magnesium and zinc that was headed to your bones as well as sodium, electrolyte and water.
>60 minutes: As the rave inside of you dies down you’ll start to have a sugar crash. You may become irritable and/or sluggish. You’ve also now, literally, pissed away all the water that was in the Coke. But not before infusing it with valuable nutrients your body could have used for things like even having the ability to hydrate your system or build strong bones and teeth.
So there you have it, an avalanche of destruction in a single can. Imagine drinking this day after day, week after week. Stick to water, real juice from fresh squeezed fruit, and tea without sweetener.

Don't forget that child like wonder and goals

Do you remember what it was like to be a child? Do you remember the dreams and goals? What happened to that child like wonder? Are you where you dreamed you would be? You would think that simply this time of year would bring that back out in us. This is the time of year that there is perhaps more child like activity going on than any other time of year. However, this year it took me watching a movie to rediscover that point. I also came to realize why I'm so frustrated in where my life is. Are you where you want to be in life? Yes, there are certain things we need to do in life just because they need to be done; however, there are choices we've made that have taken us down the road to the destination we find ourselves at right now. If you aren't where you would dream you would be, why not? Choices you have made. Have you ever woken up and wished you were where you are right now? If not, there is no one that can do anything about that except you. There are a few movies I watch that really inspire me and take me back to that childhood wonder. You need to find what it is for you. Perhaps it's movies, perhaps it's music, perhaps it's something else. Whatever it is for you, you need to find it. One of the films that really gets me back to that thinking is "8 Seconds". The movie is a true story based on the life of Lane Frost, a professional bull rider from the 80s that was killed in a tragic accident while bull riding. I guess perhaps this one really stirs me as I've always had the dream of spending my life raising cattle and even more important to me is allowing my children to grow up in that atmosphere.

During this holiday season, take time to THINK about your dreams. Perhaps you need to even brush them off a little bit. The important point is to think about - is what you are currently doing moving you toward that dream? If not, then you need to make a course correction. You may not fully achieve that dream, but it's important that you keep working toward that direction. Do you have a dream?

"Don't be afraid to go after what you want to do and what you want to be, but don't be afraid to be willing to pay the price." - Lane Frost

Another way to help stimulate your dream is through a vision board or video such as mine list above. Keep that dream alive.

MLM Systems?

The same "system" will not work for everyone. The reality is you need to find a system that works for you. IF a system is created correctly, it will take on a life of it's own. IF you have a good system, once you plug people into the system it will be a huge benefit to you and your people.

You can think what you want about Amway/Quixtar however that is where I got a true picture of what a system is. It doesn't really have anything to do with technology (although part of the system may be using technology tools to help accomplish the goal). The system is a benefit in that you bring people to the system and it helps you. I saw people in that environment that kept flying cross country and 12 months later weren't make a dime more. Some people view that as the "system" taking advantage of these people and taking their money. The reality is the personal gatherings were filling a need for these people. A need to be in personal contact with others of like mind. A need to have someone show an interest in their life and support what they are doing. My personal belief is as we head toward more and more technology and trying to connect through this technology, these in person meetings are going to be more and more valuable instead of less as some people think. I see it now with our younger generation. They sit home on Friday nights texting and messaging each other instead of out having personal contact. The reality is we need that personal contact and interaction from time to time even if we don't want to admit it.

There was a time (and still now to an extent) that much of the industry saw the old Amway "systems" as evil. However, these systems filled a need. Did people make money off of these systems? Yes. It's called find a need a fill it. I started off on a mission years ago and I continue that mission, to create a system that can create an atmosphere that I witnessed over in Amway/Quixtar, but instead of profiting from it, use it to catapult the income from the business side of things. I continue on that mission as I'm confident it can be achieved. There are some very special people in my life from that period that I continue to stay in touch with for pointers and helps. It can be accomplished.

Sales...what is it all about?

No one likes to be sold...but we all like to buy.

There is a difference. Think about the last automobile you bought. I'm sure you wanted to have your questions answered. However, my guess is you were tunred off if the salesperson tried to get you in a car you really didn't want. Service and caring about the person is important.

I'll relate a short story from my past...

I was a young kid in my late 20s looking at buying a new truck. I knew what I wanted and knew what it should cost. I also knew in order to get what I wanted it was going to have to be a special order and nothing off the lot. All I needed to do was go to a few different dealerships, give them my list and have them shoot me a price (including a trade-in value). I went to a few dealships and had wonderful experiences. However, the closest dealship I went to I walked in and they said someone would be with me shortly. After 30 minutes of waiting, I would have normally walked out, however at this point I turned it into a game to see how long it would take. Over an hour later, a sales person finally came over to me (I'm pretty sure he was pretty much low many on the totem pole) and asked if he could help me. His demeanor changed drastically when he found out I was looking at ordering a new vehicle. I went ahead and let him go through the pricing however there was no way I was going to buy a vehicle there. In fact, I drove my vehicles 30 minutes for service to avoid going back to that dealership for anything. Moral of the story...I don't necessarily like being sold to, but do like to be "taken care of" through good service.

There are plenty of people out there that are open to making money for moving a product. If you think back to the hay days of the door to door salesman, the word conjured up images of a hard working individual. (Take a look at some popular plays from the period...Death of a Salesman, Brighton Beach Memoires, etc) When you mention salesman now, people don't see the hard-working image. Instead they see the "pushy" salesman with the gaudy mis-matched clothing portrayed in movies etc in images of a used car salesman. The image has changed.

The internet has also changed that image. People are more interested in doing their own research on the internet, and then being an informed "shopper". This does not mean you turn your sales duties over to the internet. This is a mistake many people make. If you think you are just going to advertise your website and people are going to go there and buy your product, you are really kidding yourself. Websites are great for getting information out there, and great as a TOOL for those that are already sold to buy more, however, it still takes the human touch.
